The symposium is organized by The Downs Syndrome Educational Trust in Portsmouth, UK. The invitation-only symposium includes experts in practice and research for people with Down syndrome and their famlies.

bullet Creating Solutions has joined with the Incight Consortium, a group of Oregon-based nonprofit and advocacy organizations and OHSU/CDRC projects, for a grant focusing on Projects of Significance: Youth Information, Training and Resource Centers for emerging youth leaders across Oregon. bulletThe DSAIIC Information Brochure. is available for download in Adobe Reader (pdf ) format. The brochure includes basic information about the diagnosis of autism in people with Down syndrome as well as the work of the Down Syndrome - Autism Internet Information Center.

With the holidays approaching, it's a good time to to review past issues of Disability Solutions that may be helpful to hone the efforts of your child's teachers. Use the search tool or browse throught he Past Issues section for ideas that may be useful to you. If you're not sure what to do while school is out, visit our past blog activity for forcing blooms for winter gifts.

We recently conducted a survey of famlies of children with Down syndrome and an additional diagnosis such as autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, AD/HD or generally challenging behaviors for the Down Syndrome Research Directions Symposium hosted by the Downs Educational Trust.
